LASRRA, SEED Foundation Offer Gifts to Pupils in Lagos

THECONSCIENCE NG reports that encourage more residents to register with it, the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency LASRRA, in partnership with SEED Care & Support Foundation, has distributed various gifts to pupils attending low-fee private schools in Lagos.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by Mrs Basirat Lawal, Director of the Public Affairs Unit at LASRRA, on Friday.

At the presentation ceremony held on 4th April 2025 at the agency’s headquarters in Ikeja, LASRRA’s General Manager, Mrs Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola, emphasised that no community would be overlooked in this initiative.

Adebiyi-Abiola noted that the raffle draw was introduced as part of LASRRA’s commitment to enhancing the educational experience for pupils in schools serving disadvantaged communities, under the guidance of Mrs Olanreawaju Oniyitan, Founder and Executive Director of SEED Care & Support Foundation.

She stated that this initiative will take place every three months, ensuring that additional low-fee private schools are included. “The quarterly raffle draw will provide numerous benefits to participating schools, rewarding their enthusiasm and commitment while highlighting the importance of collaboration, motivation, and community development,” she explained.

A key benefit, she stressed, is the ongoing motivation it generates among schools regarding pupil registration. Each quarterly draw serves as an exciting reminder and commitment for other schools.

The General Manager also indicated that the initiative would extend to teachers, offering them the opportunity to win teaching materials and resources that enhance the quality of instruction, directly benefiting their students’ learning outcomes.

In her goodwill message, Mrs Oniyitan highlighted the vital role of human compassion in non-governmental organisations. “By supporting low-fee private schools, I hope to create a ripple effect of improved educational outcomes across Lagos State, contributing to the THEMES Agenda of Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration and ensuring that no child, parent, or teacher is left behind in our pursuit of equitable services,” she stated.

She further noted that the organisation focuses on collaboration, identity, and inclusion, empowering the community through these principles. Oniyitan revealed that the organisation began with seven schools in 2024, registering 570 individuals, and has since expanded to 63 schools with 3,226 pupils.

“The NGO is committed to bridging gaps in education, promoting fairness, and ensuring that all children, regardless of their socio-economic background, have the opportunity to succeed,” she concluded.

LASRRA remains dedicated to supporting the residents of Lagos State, particularly in education and community development. Through initiatives like the quarterly raffle draw, LASRRA ensures that low-fee private schools and their communities receive the recognition and resources they deserve.

The event culminated in the presentation of gifts to lucky winners from five participating schools: De-Ample Gate School, Afraz Private School, Adtak College, Nasiratul-Azeez Islamic School, and Glory Access Schools.
