…Reveals love for Afrobeats, Experience with Ayra Starr
Renowned American celebrity makeup artist and entrepreneur, Patrick Ta, captivated audiences at the GTCO Fashion Weekend with a revealing conversation about his rise from a solo artist to a global beauty mogul.
THECONSCIENCE NG reports that renowned American celebrity makeup artist and entrepreneur, Patrick Ta, captivated audiences at the GTCO Fashion Weekend with a revealing conversation about his rise from a solo artist to a global beauty mogul.

Speaking at a masterclass during the 2-day event in Lagos regarded as the largest fashion and beauty programme in Africa , Ta—founder of Patrick Ta Beauty—shared insights into his creative journey, entrepreneurial growth, and passion for empowering others through beauty. “My aesthetics is like wearable red-carpet makeup. I want the makeup to look good on the person, so when someone looks at you face-on, it doesn’t seem like you have too much on, yet it photographs beautifully,” he said.
Ta, celebrated for his signature “major glow” look, explained that his artistry evolved through experimentation and self-discovery. “When I first started doing makeup, I wasn’t sure of my style. But as my career grew, I figured out the wearable red-carpet look—something in between natural and glamorous. As people began recognising my style, my bookings increased and my brand took off,” he recalled.

On his entrepreneurial journey, the Los Angeles-based artist highlighted how he scaled his brand from a one-man operation to a global beauty company. “I started with private backing from a client. Two years ago, we took on private equity, and it’s been an incredible partnership. We’re growing and expanding strategically,” he said.
Ta, who recently launched his business in Mexico, also expressed his admiration for Nigerian creativity and music. “I love Afrobeats and Nigerian music. I worked with Ayra Starr two years ago, and it was an amazing experience. This is my first time visiting Nigeria, and I’m excited to connect with the fashion and beauty scene here,” he added.
Founded in 2019 alongside partners Rima Minasyan and Avo Minasyan, Patrick Ta Beauty has become a global name in luxury cosmetics, known for its radiant, sculpted aesthetic and empowering philosophy.
The brand’s mission, he emphasised, is to help individuals “find confidence through beauty” with high-performance, easy-to-use products that enhance natural features.
Through his story, Patrick Ta offered Nigerian entrepreneurs an inspiring message on creativity, consistency, and strategic growth—demonstrating that with authenticity and innovation, local ambition can truly shine on the global stage.
