Osimhen Donates Tricycles, Food Items To Lagos Community
Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has brought Christmas cheer to his childhood community Olusosun in Lagos, distributing about 2,000 motor-tricycles and food items to youths and mothers, THECONSCIENCE NG reports.
The 2023 African Footballer of The Year’s gesture follows similar charitable acts by his Super Eagles teammates Alex Iwobi and Tolu Arokodare, who have also embarked on various Christmas giveaways across Europe.
According to TVC’s Facebook page, the distribution, which has already commenced in Lagos, will extend to the striker’s hometown in Benin, with plans already in place to reach more beneficiaries.
The 25-year-old striker, who has been in scintillating form since joining Turkish giants Galatasaray on loan from Napoli, scoring 12 goals and providing five assists in 15 appearances, has continuously shown his commitment to giving back to his roots.
Meanwhile, Fulham midfielder Iwobi recently opened ‘AleXpress’ in Canning Town, his hometown in east London, where he distributed food items, including turkeys, to 100 families as part of Project 17.
“In the house I was raised in, my dad naturally just gave back. To people in Nigeria, to his family and even people in the street – he would just buy bottles of water and give them to neighbours,” Iwobi told BBC Sport Africa.
