Now I Know Why Primate Ayodele Is Always Heavily Criticized

By Adegbite Abolaji

For about thirty-two years, Nigerian prophet, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has been in the face of people and despite being over three decades in ministry, it appears the prophet is not yet tired.

He is known for giving heavy prophecies that nobody can say; he is so fearless and more than thirty years, has continued to do this with nobody arresting him or suing him in court, I don’t think that is ordinary.

He has been heavily criticized by people, even politicians have called him out for his prophecies, but instead of going down or stopping his ministry, Primate Ayodele continues to grow and has even outgrown his detractors. It’s not just an easy feat.

Apart from politicians, I always find it strange when I see people criticize the prophet because he has done no wrong; there is nothing bad in saying what God has shown you, it doesn’t need to be tackled, it’s either you like the message or not; there is no point tackling the messenger at all; I have always been of that school of thought and this made me have a soft spot for the prophet.

I always feel bad that he is almost the only one getting backlashes on Instagram pages, especially on Tunde Ednut’s page. They are always criticising his prophecies even though they come to pass. Sometimes, I wish I could shout at all his critics to stop disrespecting the prophet.

However, a few days ago, I was on TikTok when I saw a page named after Primate Elijah Ayodele. I saw it was described as the official page of the man of God. My inquisitiveness didn’t let me scroll past without checking the page well, and what I saw surprised me. This man of God has ONE MILLION LIKES on his TikTok page!!!

I wouldn’t lie, I have been hearing of Primate Ayodele for years now, and I wasn’t expecting that someone who has been around for more than thirty years could still be relevant on a Gen-Z platform like TikTok.

It is understandable when men of God like Jerry Eze, Bolaji Idowu and the likes have massive followers and likes because they all became relevant when the online prayer sprung up in 2020; they appeal to the Gen Zs well, but for Primate Ayodele, who has been around since 1994? It is not just a small feat.

Primate Ayodele’s grace is mysterious because when newspapers were in vogue, Primate Ayodele always featured on their front pages. When newspapers had little or no attention and moved to the era of blogs and websites, which we are still in, Primate Ayodele still gets serious mention even more than the newspapers then and now with social media platforms, Primate Ayodele is still very much relevant on them.

Then I thought to myself, is it possible for such a man not to have critics? How can you have 1 million likes and not be criticized. Among your 1 Million likes, you definitely have people who don’t like you, people who like you, those who are indifferent and beyond those on the page, there are people angry that Primate Ayodele has been trending for more than thirty years. How would such a man not be heavily criticized?

I thought it was bad for the prophet to be criticized but now I know better. Primate Ayodele is a bigger name than I felt it was. The critics may never stop.
