Impressive Talents Force Niyola to Break Rule on FirstBank sponsored TVN 4
By our Editor
Super star singer Niyola was stunned and couldn’t choose between her two talents – Gidion and Manuel, following the duo’s incredible performance at the weekend.
THECONSCIENCEng reports that it was the first time in the global music talents reality show’s history since it began production in Nigeria that the rule will be broken.
The competition’s rule for the Battles stage compels the coach to choose one talent each in four rounds of duet and leave the audience to save one talent through voting on votestudio.live
Both singers were however superb while delivering a scintillating performance of Marvin Gaye’s Sexual Healing during the 13th episode, leaving Niyola who doubled as their coach and judge unwilling to drop either.

The organisers later waived the rule and granted her wish to keep both talents for live show while she forfeited the opportunity to get an extra talent via audience votes.
The weekly TV show, in its fourth season in Nigeria, is sponsored by First Bank, the nation’s 129-year old premier financial powerhouse in line with its strategic support for arts, entertainment and youth development.
Meanwhile, Rolland, Mike Frost and Pere also gave good performances and were selected by Niyola for the live shows.
Love, Esther and Sade however failed to advance to the next stage following duets of Beyonce’s Love on Top, Lionel Richie’s All Night Long, and Foreigner’s I Want to Know What Love Is.
Coaches and Judges
Superstar musicians – Niyola, Naeto C, Waje and Praiz, feature both as coaches and judges for the talents while movie star, Kate Henshaw anchors the show.
What Next?
The next episode will feature another team of eight vocalists in four rounds of head-to-head duets. It will be team Waje or Naeto C’s turn.
