Kenny Blaq’s much-anticipated Oxymoron 5.0 concert delivered an electrifying mix of music, comedy, and drama, creating an unforgettable experience for fun lovers in Lagos. Many were fortunate enough to attend thanks to sponsored tickets from FirstBank, the lead sponsor committed to supporting the arts and entertainment through its FirstArts initiative.

Kenny Blaq Shines Bright
On Sunday, July 27, the Convention Centre Hall of Eko Hotel was packed to the brim with enthusiastic fun lovers, buzzing with energy and excitement as they enjoyed a night filled with laughter and rhythm. Otolorin Peter Kehinde, better known as Kenny Blaq, brought his A-game, showcasing a stellar lineup of comedic talent and soul-stirring performances at his fifth edition of The Oxymoron of Kenny Blaq comedy show.
The evening kicked off with a glamorous red carpet experience at 7:00 PM, as guests arrived in droves, eagerly anticipating the main show that started at 8:00 PM. What followed was an explosive blend of humor, drama, electrifying dance, and melodious music that had the audience clamoring for more.
It wasn’t just Kenny Blaq who lit up the stage; fellow comedians like Akpororo, Romeo and many others also delivered jaw-dropping skits that earned thunderous applause. The concert’s uniqueness lay in its musicality, with Kenny Blaq seamlessly weaving music into every segment of the night. When he finally took the stage, his signature therapeutic comedy shone through, featuring a choir that encouraged audience sing-alongs.
Kenny Blaq cleverly crafted humour from trending social issues and popular tunes, creating a vibrant tapestry of musical performances that engaged the crowd. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to his fans for their unwavering support over the past 15 years.

FirstBank Fuels the Night
FirstBank, West Africa’s premier financial institution, played a pivotal role in making the night a success. The bank took the opportunity to treat numerous fun seekers to the concert, allowing them to enjoy the performances of Kenny Blaq and other entertainers with premium tickets.
Yinka Ijabiyi, Acting Group Head of Marketing and Communications, highlighted that the bank’s sponsorship aligns with its FirstArts initiative, celebrating arts and entertainment.
He emphasized FirstBank’s ongoing commitment to collaborating with entertainment platforms that foster relaxation and memorable experiences for Nigerians, like Kenny Blaq’s Oxymoron concert 5.0.

Musical Highlights
The concert was not short on musical raves, with young sensations like Spyro performing hits such as “Who is Your Guy” and “You Are the Only Fine Girl.” Soulful singer Johnny Drille captivated the crowd with “My Friend” and “What Have You Done to Me,” while Duncan Mighty brought the dance hall vibes. The electrifying dance moves of popular act Poco Lee added to the high-energy atmosphere, as top DJs kept the beats flowing.
Another high point of the night was when Blaq brought on stage legendary singers, Bright Chimezie and Sir Shina Peters SSP to sing some of their evergreen tunes like “Because of English”, Shinamania, Ace to the delight of fans.
The captivating stage presence and musical prowess of the performers kept the energy alive well into the early hours, wrapping up around 4 AM on Monday.
The night also featured popular content creator Kiki, who treated the audience to her hilarious Kiki therapy session, in a musical fashion.
Comedy legend, Ali Baba added a twist to the night when he hilariously recounted on stage an experience he had with the highly energetic 67- year old juju music legend, Sir Shina Peters, who once fed him snake meat unknown to him. Both burst into laughter on stage. Peters also sang out his heart to the delight of the audience who sang along with him.
Kenny Blaq wrapped up the night by expressing a heartfelt appreciation to FirstBank and everyone who supported the show, which he adores for its ability to spread happiness.
