THECONSCIENCE NG reports that the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) has lifted the lifetime flight ban imposed on Comfort Emmanson, the Ibom Air passenger recently released from Kirikiri prison.

Meanwhile, Comfort Emmanson has received a major boost from the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, Ossai Ovie Success, who announced an all-expenses-paid trip and a lucrative job offer for her.

In a post on his Instagram page on Wednesday, Ossai revealed that Emmanson had been offered a job in Delta State with a monthly salary of ₦500,000. The package also includes round-trip flight tickets, five-star hotel accommodation, a guided tour of Delta State, and an invitation to attend the Delta Social Media Summit, scheduled to hold on August 28 in Asaba.

“I’m offering Comfort Emmanson a complimentary trip to Delta State, known as the Big Heart and Home of Global Tourism Hub. Additionally, a job opportunity with a monthly salary of ₦500,000 has been secured for her in Delta State. All expenses, including flight tickets, five-star hotel accommodation, and tour costs, will be fully covered,” Ossai stated.

He explained that the gesture was intended to help Emmanson recover from her recent ordeal.

“I’d like to extend an invitation for her to visit Delta State and unwind after her release from Kirikiri prison. She won’t be disappointed as I will be giving her a good time,” he added.

Ossai also urged anyone in contact with Emmanson to advise her to reach out to him directly via Instagram.

In a related development, the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) on Thursday announced the lifting of the lifetime ban previously placed on Emmanson for alleged unruly behavior aboard an Ibom Air flight.

AON spokesperson, Professor Obiora Okonkwo, said the decision followed an appeal by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo. He noted that Emmanson’s expression of remorse, the withdrawal of the complaint against her, the dismissal of charges, and her subsequent release from custody were all factors considered in reversing the sanction.

Okonkwo praised the Federal Government’s recent initiative to retrain aviation security personnel and airline crew on managing disruptive passengers. He also called for broader public education on the risks and legal consequences of unruly behavior under the Civil Aviation Act, 2022, and the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations, 2023.

He emphasized that serious infractions—such as assaulting or threatening crew members, disobeying safety instructions, smoking in prohibited areas, fighting, causing disturbances, or tampering with aircraft equipment—remain punishable offenses. He further noted that airline pilots and security officers are empowered to restrain or deboard passengers who engage in such behavior.
