Redesigned CRC Mobile App to Enhance Digital Financial Services – Popoola

The MD/CEO of CRC Credit Bureau, Dr. ‘Tunde Popoola, has explained that its newly redesigned CRC
Mobile App unveiled in 2026 was aimed at enhancing its credit information services and overall customers experience.

He revealed that having recognised the rapid evolution of Nigeria’s digital financial ecosystem and the growing
demand for secure, integrated mobile services, CRC undertook a comprehensive
redesign and modernisation of the old platform, culminating in the launch of the new CRC
Mobile App.

The CEO gave the remarks during the firm’s official launch of the
App, reinforcing a commitment to digital innovation, improved customer experience,
and expanded financial accessibility.

He stated: “The upgraded application introduces new features
designed to deliver enhanced security, including secure biometric login through facial
recognition and fingerprint authentication, seamless transactions, and broader service
offerings to individuals and businesses across Nigeria.”

Originally introduced in 2019, the CRC Mobile App was designed to give individuals and
businesses convenient access to credit reports and related credit information products.
While the platform represented an important step in improving access to credit
intelligence, its initial release was limited in scope and functionality.

The redesigned application introduces a significantly improved user experience and
expands beyond credit information services to provide a multi-service digital platform
that integrates credit intelligence, payments, utilities, and professional development.
The new CRC Mobile App incorporates biometric login functionality, enabling users to
securely access their accounts through fingerprint authentication and Face ID. This
enhancement ensures faster login while maintaining strict data protection standards and
strengthening overall platform security.

As part of the upgrade, CRC has introduced an integrated wallet system that allows
users to top up their wallet balance for transactions within the app. This functionality
streamlines payments and reduces transaction friction. The wallet feature also includes
a show and hide balance option, giving users greater privacy and control over their
financial information when using the application in public or shared environments.

The upgraded app further expands its digital service offerings by enabling users to
conveniently purchase utility services, including electricity payments, airtime, mobile
data, and cable television subscriptions such as DSTv, GOtv, StarTimes, and Showmax.
This integration positions the CRC Mobile App as a multifunctional digital platform that
supports everyday financial transactions in one secure ecosystem.

In alignment with CRC’s mission to promote financial literacy and professional
development, the mobile application now allows users to register directly for CRC
Financial Education Centre (CFEC) training courses. This addition simplifies access to
educational programmes and reinforces CRC’s role in building financial capacity across
the market.

Dr. Popoola, stated that “the new mobile app reflects the organisation’s broader digital transformation
strategy and its commitment to delivering innovative solutions that empower customers.
The upgraded app is designed to place greater control in the hands of customers while
maintaining the highest standards of security and operational excellence.”

He further noted that “CRC remains committed to investing in technology that enhances
transparency, improves accessibility, and strengthens trust within Nigeria’s financial
services ecosystem”. By integrating secure authentication, wallet functionality, bill
payment services, and access to CRC Financial Education Centre training programmes
into a single platform, CRC is redefining convenience and delivering a more seamless,
comprehensive digital experience for its users.”

CRC Credit Bureau has consistently played a leading role in Nigeria’s credit reporting
industry. The CRC brand is widely regarded as one of the most trusted and
professionally managed credit bureaus in the Nigeria & Africa, serving as a benchmark
within the financial services ecosystem. This reputation is built on a strong commitment
to world-class corporate governance, data integrity, regulatory compliance, service
excellence, and continuous innovation.
