
City Pulse Condoles With Femi Davies Over Mother’s Passing
Mr Ayo Mojoyinola, the CEO of The City Pulse Group in Lagos, has expressed heartfelt condolences to veteran journalist and media icon, Otunba Femi Davies, over the death of his mother, Deaconess Bolajoko Idowu (née Showemimo), who passed away at the age of 78 on July 4, 2025.
In a statement, Mojoyinola described the late Deaconess Idowu as a matriarch whose life was marked by grace, compassion, and resilience.

He also acknowledged the enduring impact of Otunba Femi Davies, the Founder of MetroNews and a respected figure in Nigeria’s media landscape, urging him to draw strength from the remarkable life his mother lived and the values she instilled in him.
“At this painful moment, I encourage you to reflect on the courage, humility, and grace she embodied—qualities you continue to exhibit in your leadership and media practice,” Mojoyinola added.
