From the results coming in from the Edo 2020 election, Governor Godwin Obaseki of the PDP appears to be in an early lead with a good margin.
Godwin Obaseki, governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo 2020 Saturday’s election, is currently leading Osagie Ize-Iyamu, his All Progressives Congress (APC) rival, with over 50,000 votes.
Out of the results of 10 local government areas declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Obaseki secured victory across eight, leaving his opponent with two.
The Edo 2020 gubernatorial election has been described as a two-horse race between the incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Osagie Andrew Ize-Iyamu, his All Progressives Congress (APC) rival.

The build up to the election was characterized by violence and heated politicking from the camps of the two leading candidates out of the total fourteen candidates jostling for the number one citizen of the oil rich Niger Delta state in Nigeria
