Digital Literacy: NCC, Nokia Partner to Train Youths on Latest 5G Tech

In an exciting development, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has partnered with Nokia Solutions and Networks Nigeria to provide training on the latest 4G/5G radio and transmission technologies to young Nigerians.

This collaboration aims to equip Nigerians with the skills needed to adapt to the rapidly evolving telecommunications industry.

The Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, Dr. Aminu Maina, announced this partnership via a post on his X handle, highlighting that the training will be conducted nationwide at the Commission’s Digital Parks.

Additionally, Nokia Nigeria will establish a fully functional 5G/4G test lab, utilizing their cutting-edge radio and transmission technologies.

This target encompasses not only the youth but also older individuals, ensuring that no one is left behind in the digital revolution. Digital literacy provides the foundation for individuals to participate in the digital economy and make informed choices about their technological engagement.

The Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, emphasised the importance of digital literacy and inclusivity. The government recognizes that while younger generations are naturally inclined towards technology, there is a need to onboard those who may lack the foundational understanding of how to use technology.

By fostering a population that is interested in technology and possesses a solid understanding of it, Nigeria aims to create an inclusive and thriving digital economy.

This collaboration between the NCC and Nokia Nigeria not only promotes technological advancement but also empowers young Nigerians with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the telecommunications industry.

By investing in digital literacy and technical training, Nigeria is paving the way for a digitally literate nation ready to embrace the opportunities of the digital era.
