Popular Comedian Ready to Honour Police Invite, Stands by Remarks on Tinubu’s Turkey Visit
Comedian, social media personality and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Aderombi Adedayo, also known as Dee One, has confirmed his invitation by The Nigeria Police Force, Force Intelligence Department (FID), for a routine interview.
This was according to the comedian who made this known in a post shared on X on Thursday, where he read out the content of the police invitation letter addressed to him.
The invitation, signed by the Commissioner of Police, Force Intelligence Department, is for a fact-finding interview as part of an ongoing inquiry.
The letter directed Deeone to report to the FID Annex Office, Lagos, through the OCCIOS team.
Reacting to the invitation, the comedian said he believes it may be connected to a video he posted earlier, which has generated a lot of reactions and calls from different people.

He noted that while opinions have varied, he does not regret making the video and insists that he did nothing wrong.

He stated that he is ready to honour the invitation but vowed not to apologise if the invitation is linked to his comments, which he described as his personal views expressed as a Nigerian citizen.
He said, “I saw something strange that happened in Turkey involving our President, our dear President, and I shared my views as an ordinary Nigerian. If this invitation is about the video I posted yesterday, I have received many calls and heard different opinions. Some people said Deeone was cyberbullying, that I should not have mentioned the President’s son or spoken about the President.”
73 year old President Bola Tinubu, was reportedly being welcomed by his Turkish counterpart at an official ceremony in the capital, Ankara, when he stumbled, on Tuesday, drawing widespread reactions on social media.
His media aide Sunday Dare said he was “in great shape” and able to continue with a bilateral meeting.
A spokesman for the president, Bayo Onanuga, later said that Tinubu had stepped on a metal object “on the floor, which made him lose his balance”.
“This is not a big deal, except for those who want to make mischief out of a fleeting incident. It was a mere stumble, thank God, not a fall,” he added.
