Top Fashion Businessman and CEO of YORMAGES, Yomi Awoyemi Adds Glamour to Ibeju Lekki and Ojude Oba Festivals
…Emphasises Culture’s Relevance to Economy
Prominent fashion entrepreneur and Chief Executive Officer of YORMAGES Global Investment Limited, Mr Yomi Awoyemi, was among the distinguished attendees at the Igi Meta Ibeju Festival on Monday, 9th June, as well as the Ojude Oba festival in Ijebu Ode on Sunday, 8th June.
On both occasions, the iconic fashion mogul and creative egghead was elegantly attired in a stylish agbada, complemented by a fitting cap that enhanced his regal appearance at the festivals.

In an interview with TheConscience TV, Awoyemi expressed his excitement at having witnessed the 2025 celebration of the renowned Ojude Oba festival in Ijebu on Sunday, as well as his enthusiasm for attending the Igi Meta Ibeju Day festival on Monday, 9th June.
He remarked, “What I can say is that we all know the Yoruba are one of the most recognised ethnic groups, not just in Nigeria, but across the globe. The Yoruba culture transcends borders.
“So when we have a day dedicated to celebrating the beauty of our culture and the people of Yoruba, it highlights our cultural heritage. It is crucial that such a day is included in our yearly calendar.”
Discussing the impact of cultural celebrations on business, particularly in mentoring young entrepreneurs and enhancing local industry and manufacturing, he stated, “As a serial entrepreneur with a fashion business, I can assert that we cannot separate culture from fashion. I attended Ojude Oba yesterday, and it was a vibrant occasion, much like Ibeju Day today.
“These events are a big boost for the local community. The stunning garments displayed and paraded at these festivals are crafted by local artisans. This is where culture and the economy truly intersect. The benefits that culture can provide in terms of economic development for any community are immense.
“Yesterday, we witnessed a celebration that involved numerous participants, from caterers to photographers and media personnel. The economic advantages that a day like this can bring to the community are substantial.
“Therefore, I firmly believe that when culture is celebrated, economic empowerment concurrently occurs, as culture and business are inherently intertwined.”
He urged the youth to recognise that cultural celebrations are intended for them, as this heritage belongs to them. He encouraged young people to engage with and embrace cultural festivities, as they will eventually become the custodians of culture. “As such, they must step up and take ownership,” he concluded.
