Alleged N450m Land Scam: Police to Arraign Lilyworth Homes CEO, Nnenne Nwizu as Victims Cry Out

The Lagos State Police Command has intensified investigations into an alleged multi-million naira land fraud, with detectives at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, set to arraign the chief executive officer of Lilyworth Homes Ltd, Nnenne Nwizu, over allegations of obtaining money by false pretence.
Police sources confirmed that the case was transferred from the Ebute-Ero Police Division to the SCID, Panti, on July 21, 2026, for detailed investigation by the Anti-Fraud Section.
According to the sources, the investigation was triggered by a complaint lodged on July 10, 2026, by one Ugwunna Anayo Mark and about 30 other complainants, who alleged that the suspect induced them to part with substantial sums of money under the pretext of selling plots of land in the South-East through her company, Lilyworth Homes Ltd.
The complainants alleged that each victim paid about N9.45 million for the proposed land transactions but neither received the properties nor refunds from Nnenne Hope Nwizu despite waiting for more than two years.
Investigations further revealed that the suspect allegedly abandoned the company’s known corporate address and relocated to an unknown destination after the transactions, prompting the petition to the police.
It was gathered that preliminary findings indicate the cumulative amount allegedly obtained from victims as estimated at about N450 million, while additional complainants are still coming forward to report similar experiences at the SCID, suggesting that the number of victims may rise.
Police are also said to be investigating allegations that part of the funds was diverted into the construction of a massive hotel at a location yet to be officially disclosed.
Police sources said the 41-year old suspect is currently assisting detectives with the investigation and she would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The development is the latest in a series of anti-fraud operations by the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, under the leadership of DCP Dayo Akinbisehin, whose command has sustained a crackdown on organised financial crimes and other criminal activities across the state through intelligence-led investigations and diligent prosecution of suspects.
