West Africa Icon Award 2025 Set to Celebrate Excellence in Abuja
Organisers said all plans have been concluded for the 2025 edition of the West Africa Icon Award (WAIA), billed for September 27 at the Nigerian National Merit Award Secretariat, Abuja.
The event is expected to bring together leading figures from across the sub-region in a celebration of excellence and innovation in human capital development.
Organisers described WAIA 2025 as more than an award ceremony, calling it a movement to spotlight trailblazers who have made outstanding contributions to West Africa’s growth.
This year’s honorees, they noted, embody leadership, dedication and passion, serving as models of innovation in their fields.

The night will feature the presentation of golden plaques, certificates jointly endorsed by Elation Magazine and Royal International Magazine, as well as distinctive medals to mark the achievements of the icons. A special edition of both magazines showcasing the honorees’ milestones will also be unveiled.
According to the organisers, the ceremony will be “a night of glamour, excitement and inspiration,” designed not only to recognise achievement but also to inspire a new generation of leaders and innovators.

Industry leaders, dignitaries, and media representatives are expected to attend, underscoring the significance of the platform as a rallying point for reinforcing excellence and innovation across the region.
With anticipation already building, the WAIA 2025 promises to be one of the year’s standout events, shining a spotlight on the individuals shaping the future of West Africa.
