Tiwa Savage Bows To Critics, Congratulates Tems On Grammy Nomination
Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage has taken to social media to congratulate her colleague, Tems on her Grammy nomination.
THECONSCIENCEng reports that the Koroba crooner came under heavy backlash on Twitter for not supporting her female colleagues.
Taking to her Instagram page, the mother of one congratulated Tems as well as Angelique Kidjo, a Benniese American music icon, on their Grammy nomination.
She wrote:
“It’s a big win, but I’m especially proud of myself.” I’m really looking forward to seeing my Queens ooo. Angelique Kidjo and Tems Baby,”
Tems received a nomination for Best Global Music Performance for her collaboration with Wizkid, ‘Essence.’
Savage however did not congratulate her which caused a stir on social media as users accused her of not supporting other female colleagues.
Many consider Tems to be a bigger artist than Tiwa after her collaboration with Wizkid, which earned her global recognition, and her international collaboration with Canadian rapper Drake on his latest album Certified Lover Boy.
Interestingly, the “Try Me” Crooner, Tems, is the first Nigerian female singer to receive a Grammy nomination
