
Tinubu Appoints New Fire Service CG
THECONSCIENCE NG reports that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Deputy Controller-General Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new substantive Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), effective August 14, 2025.
The announcement was made in an official statement issued by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), and signed by its Secretary, Major General (Rtd.) Abdulmalik Jibril.
According to the statement, Adeyemi’s appointment follows the impending retirement of the current Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, who will exit service on August 13, 2025, after reaching the statutory retirement age of 60.
“DCG Olumode Samuel Adeyemi brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having transferred from the FCT Fire Service to the Federal Fire Service, where he rose to the rank of Deputy Controller-General in the Human Resource Directorate at the Service Headquarters,” the statement read.
Throughout his distinguished career, Adeyemi has completed all mandatory in-service trainings and command courses, as well as several other professional development programs both locally and internationally.
He is also a member and fellow of several professional bodies, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.
The Board expressed its gratitude to the outgoing Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, for his outstanding service and notable contributions to the growth and modernization of the Federal Fire Service.
