Customs Spokesman, Deputy Comptroller Joseph Attah Shines with International Honours
The horizon continues to shine brightly for the outspoken National Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Customs Service, Joseph Attah.
Attah, a Deputy Comptroller of Customs has added the prestigious International Public Relations Golden World Award 2020 for outstanding performance in Public Sector Communication to his kitty.
The Custom Service which Attah has represented meritoriously also bagged the 2020 African Public Relations Award in recognition of its Superior Achievement in Branding Reputation and Engagement (SABRE).
The awards was hosted by The Holmes Report in collaboration with the African Public Relations Association (APRA).
Not new to awards, the PRO had also in 2019 won the SISLAC award for Best in Public Sector Communications due to the dint of hard work and diligence.
Joseph Attah who was enlisted into the Service in 1988 has served in various capacity, including as Customs Deputy PRO between 2007 and 2016, before his appointment as the Service PRO in January, 2017.
Armed with a Masters degree in International Diplomacy and Strategic Studies, HND Marketing, BSc Criminology amidst other professional qualifications and memberships, DC Joseph Attah remains a shining star as he brilliantly manages the flow of information between the Customs and its maritime stakeholders and Nigerian publics.
Justifying the recent award, organizers cited aggressive sensitization drive across the country during the early part of the ongoing border drill. Recognition of selflessness, commitment and devotion by the Service in effective deployment of communication to address various economic, social and security challenges were also cited.
Present at the ceremony were Nigeria’s Public Relations community including the National President of Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Mukhtar Zubairu; Vice President of the Institute, Assistant Comptroller General of Customs Adewale Adeniyi, Deputy National PRO of Customs, Dr. Abubakar Dalhatu and other dignitaries.
