Ondo, Edo 2024 Guber Elections: Candidate Vows to Resist Intimidation as Popular Prophet Foretells Winners
The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has vowed to resist any act of intimidation in the November 16, 2024 governorship election.
This followed the discovery of alleged plans by the All Progressives Congress to harass the opposition parties in the state.
The PDP governorship candidate, Mr Agboola Ajayi, stated this on Monday at the PDP youth programme in Akure, the state capital.
He said, “We have seen signal; we have seen their plans but we are not scared of any intimidation. People will go out and vote; we are not scared of anybody once our youths conduct themselves in a civilised manner. You can’t take away their rights to cast their votes for whoever they want to vote for.
Meanwhile, Popular Lagos based Prophet, Primate Elijah Ayodele has also released new prophecies on who will emerge as winners in the forthcoming Ondo, Edo elections.
Giving his prophecy, Ayodele said “the pendulum is swinging towards the present governor to win the primaries.” He added:
“In the Ondo state election, the PDP, Labour, and NPP, are wasting their time, APC will win unless God changes it.”
Ayodele also predicted the APC’s victory in the south-south state. “In the Edo state election that is coming now, in a free and fair election with no rigging, APC will win,” the cleric said.
Election will hold first in Edo state in the south-south geopolitical zone on 21 September 2024 and later in Ondo state in the southwest on 16 November, 2024.
In Ondo, it’s a two horse race between Former deputy governors of the late governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, including incumbent governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who is the APC candidate, and PDP candidate, Agboola Ajayi, who was also deputy governor during Akeredolu’s first term.
Of the 17 candidates for Edo election, the three leading ones are Asue Ighodalo of the governing Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) backed by outgoing Governor Godwin Obaseki, Olumide Akpata of Labour Party (LP), and Monday Okpebholo of All Progressives Congress (APC) backed by Senator Adams Oshiomhole.
