
AIG Fayoade Meets Commissioners on Ember Months Security
THECONSCIENCE NG reports that the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2 Command, AIG Adegoke M. Fayoade, has held a high-level security meeting with senior officers of the Lagos and Ogun State Police Commands ahead of the ember months.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Ayuba T. Umma, on Monday.
According to the statement, the meeting, which took place on Wednesday, 11 September, brought together the Commissioners of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo (Ogun State) and CP Moshood Jimoh (Lagos State), as well as their Deputies in charge of Operations.
Discussions centred on strategies to address the anticipated rise in activities during the ember period, with special attention to commercial centres, places of worship, schools, highways, motor parks and entertainment hubs.


AIG Fayoade stressed the need for stronger inter-agency collaboration, closer community engagement and continuous training of personnel, particularly on the responsible use of firearms. He also underscored the importance of upholding the rule of law at all times.
The Zone 2 Command assured residents of Lagos and Ogun States that effective and robust security arrangements have been put in place to ensure safety during and beyond the ember months.
