More Troubles for Prophet Oladele Genesis, As Court Denies Fresh Application
Justice Olabisi Akinlade of a Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja has refused the post conviction bail application filed by a popular televangelist and the head Genesis Parish of the Celestial Church of Christ, popularly known as Prophet Oladele Genesis Ogundipe.
Justice Akinlade dismissed the application brought pursuant to S.6(6) of the Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended S.51 of High Court of Lagos State, in a ruling, paving way for the convict continuing staying in Kirikiri Correctional facility.
Prophet Oladele Genesis in a motion on notice for bail pending appeal, asked the court to admit him bail unconditionally pending the hearing and determination of his appeal against the conviction judgement.
In his 16 paragraph affidavit sworn to by his lead counsel, Mr Olanrewaju Ajanaku in support of his application, the convict affirmed being a diabetic patient could not follow strict diet and constant specialized medical attention which has taken toll of his health thereby making him to be grunt looking.

The state in its counter affidavit sworn by Rotimi Odutola prayed the court to refused the application noted that there was never a time the convict complained about his state of health during trial only for him to allude to facts about his alleged state of health now that he has being in custody for barely three weeks.
However, ruling on the application, the court held that Genesis did not prove any special circumstances that could persuade the court to do so.
The court had convicted Prophet Oladele Genesis for fraud and dismissed his post conviction bail application for lack of merit.
