Man Beats Vendor To Death Over N50 In Ogun State
Operatives of the Ogun Police command have arrested a 32-year-old man, Biodun Adebiyi for allegedly beating a 30-year-old cigarette seller to death over N50 balance.
According to reports, the suspect was arrested on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at his residence in Lagos. The Police public relations officer in the state, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi disclosed this on Monday. He stated that the suspect was arrested following a report by the father of the deceased Adamu Abubakar.
The complainant told the police that the suspect came to his shop at Ajegunle area of Idiroko to buy cigarettes and his son, Mukaila Adamu attended to him.
He noted further that the suspect came back to the shop and demanded for his balance of N50.
According to him, this led to an argument between his son and the suspect and in the course of their disagreement, the suspect descended heavily on his son with blows and he collapsed immediately and was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
The Police spokesperson said that upon receipt of the report, the police visited the crime scene and the suspect was promptly arrested while the corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy.
