THECONSCIENCE NG reports that media personality Chioma Ikokwu, popularly known as Chioma Goodhair, has shared the heartfelt story behind actress Iyabo Ojo’s eventual support of her daughter Priscilla’s relationship with Tanzanian singer Juma Jux.
In a candid Instagram post, Chioma revealed that she spent nearly two hours walking from Oxford Circus to Knightsbridge in London, earnestly trying to convince Iyabo to give the budding relationship a chance.
Initially hesitant, Iyabo eventually agreed—on the condition that Juma Jux was genuinely serious about marriage. Chioma said she vouched for the singer’s sincerity, revealing that Juma had expressed his desire to marry Priscilla early on in their relationship.
“What started as a conversation about love quickly evolved into detailed wedding discussions,” Chioma wrote, recalling how Iyabo began outlining her expectations for a future wedding. Despite their limited ties to Tanzania at the time, Chioma said she knew Juma was sincere after spending time with him in Rwanda.
“It wasn’t easy convincing Iyabo,” Chioma recounted. “I remember walking for nearly two hours, trying to reassure her. She kept calling with concerns based on blog posts, but I reminded her how inaccurate gossip blogs can be. I had grilled Juma in Rwanda when he confessed his deep interest in Priscy, so I had answers ready for every one of Iyabo’s questions.”
Chioma added that Iyabo made it clear: if her daughter was going to be in a relationship with Juma, marriage had to be the end goal. “I promised her he would marry her—he told me from day one that was his intention.”
The pivotal conversation reportedly took place in August 2024, just as Priscilla and Juma officially became a couple. “It was surreal—we were already talking about wedding plans,” Chioma said. “Iyabo insisted they come to Nigeria for a proper traditional ceremony and then hold another in Tanzania. At first I laughed at how specific she was, but knowing Iyabo, I took it seriously. She’s prophetic—when she speaks, things happen.”
Fast forward just a few months, and those conversations became reality. The #JP2025 wedding celebration took place over the weekend in a grand, star-studded event.
Chioma also took a moment to publicly appreciate Iyabo Ojo: “@iyaboojofespris, I honor you for the amazing woman you are. This wedding has shown how deeply loved you are. Thank you for entrusting Priscilla to me as a sister, just as you’ve embraced me as yours.”
