Adeleke Orders Manhunt For Arsonists Who Set Osun Court Ablaze
THECONSCIENCE NG reports that Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the arson attack that gutted the Ilesa High Court 2 building on Sunday night.
Condemning the incident in strong terms, Governor Adeleke described the attack as an “unjustifiable assault on the state judiciary” and a direct threat to democratic institutions. He called on security agencies to ensure the perpetrators are swiftly apprehended and brought to justice.
According to reports, the fire outbreak led to the destruction of critical court documents, exhibits, and the near-complete devastation of the court building. By the time the Osun State Fire Service arrived, significant damage had already occurred. Sources confirmed that files related to sensitive cases were among those lost in the blaze.
In a statement released by the Governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke emphasized the need for urgent action:
“Thorough investigation must be conducted by the security agencies to apprehend the suspects and ensure they face the consequences of their actions. I further direct security agencies to beef up surveillance across various court buildings.”

The governor also instructed the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice to collaborate with the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to commence immediate rehabilitation of the affected court facility.
Highlighting the vital role of the judiciary in upholding democratic values, Governor Adeleke called for increased support and protection for judicial institutions across the state.
