THECONSCIENCE NG reports that Veteran Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola has opened up about a significant moment from the early days of her career involving fellow actress Iyabo Ojo.
During a recent podcast appearance, Akintola shared that she first met Iyabo when she was just 19 years old and filled with passion for acting. She spoke highly of Ojo’s determination at the time, recalling the bold steps she took to pursue her dreams.
“She came to my house. She was very young and I asked, ‘What do you want?’ She said she wanted to act. She was 19 when we met,” Akintola said.
The acclaimed actress expressed how much she admired Iyabo’s courage and drive, qualities she believed contributed to Ojo’s rise in the film industry.
“What I like is that she went the extra mile to fulfill her acting dream. However, the story took a dramatic turn,” she added.
According to Akintola, things became complicated after she personally secured a lead role for Iyabo in a film — something she rarely does.
“Iyabo offended me when I got her a lead role. I don’t beg for roles, but I did for her. She was pregnant,” she revealed, expressing her disappointment at how things unfolded.
