Daylight Microfinance Bank: A Decade Of Consistenly Changing The Narratives

For a decade, Daylight Microfinance Bank Limited, a Subsidiary of Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, Staff Cooperative,CMS Lagos, has stood tall among its contemporaries in the Banking Industry.
Having carved a niche for itself after it birthed on the 15th April, 2015, Daylight Microfinance Bank, with 150 Customers, mostly NNPC Staffs back then, the Bank have witnessed astronomical rise, which has made it a force to reckon with.
Despite the economic downturn the nation have experienced over the years, in which various sectors were affected, with several companies going into extinction, the sagacity, prudency, doggedness and resilience of Princess Adeola Ilozobhie, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, MD/CEO, of Daylight Microfinance Bank, made the Bank wither the storm and remain in business.
The Bank changed the narrative of Microfinance Banks in Nigeria, and was outstanding, as it brought about dynamism in the sector.
It is among the first set of Microfinance Bank that embrace Financial Technology System, Online Banking Platform and Automated Teller Machine (ATM Mobile App), enabling Customers to operate seamlessly through NIBSS
The Bank provides various Products for their Customers and Prospective Customers with; Students Loans, Target Savings, Save and Borrow, SMA Loans Assets Financing and Farmers loans.
The Bank have over the years been making meaningful impact in the Agricultural Sector, making food accessible to Nigerians, as it is tagged a Farmers Friendly Bank.
It partnered with the All Farmers Association of Nigeria, AFAN, Oyo State in boosting Agriculture in the State.
The Bank financed and facilitated the Importation of Tractors to Oyo State Farmers in partnership with AFAN Oyo state chapter.
It also Customized Fertilizers for Farmers, with the aim of boosting the Agricultural Sector.
The MD/CEO of Daylight Microfinance Bank Limited could be described as a Banking Guru, whose footprint has kept the Bank floating 10 Years down the line.
The Welfarism of Staff is a top priority for the Bank, making it a ‘Home Away from Home’ for the employees, who are trained to work in tandem with the world’s best banking practices and in line with the Apex Bank, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)’s regulatory guidelines.
The Bank has over the years ensured that they gain Customers trust, making the Bank a haven of possibilities in meeting Customers aspiration.
Speaking on the challenges the Bank has faced over the years, the MD/CEO stated that Capital Adequacy has been a major challenge, and also the non payment of Loans by Customers.
She however allude to the fact that the Bank has been able to overcome this burden through the help of its Investors, who have kept faith with Bank’s performance and growth over the years.
Princess Adeola Ilozobhie furthermore added that the inconsistency in Government Policies is also a major challenge, but the Bank is not resting on its oars, as it is waxing stronger.
On the 10 Years anniversary of the Bank, the MD/CEO said she is overwhelmed with the growth of the Bank, appreciating Daylight Microfinance Bank Directors, Management Staff, that includes; Head Human Resource, Talabi Mayokun; Head, Risk Management, Ayedun Olubunmi Ayoola; Business Development Manager Head, Oladele Olanipekun; Head, Internal Control & Audit, Ekong Edoho; Head, Operations, Ajayi Ebenezer; Head, ICT, Ogunnubi Oluwasegun and all the entire Staff of the Bank for their supports thus far.
She also acknowledged the support and trust of their investors, partners and Customers alike.
