Boniface, Aina, Iheanacho Return As Chelle Unveils Nigeria’s Provisional AFCON Squad

THECONSCIENCE NG reports that Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has unveiled a 54-man provisional squad for the 35th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals in Morocco, according to the reports

Among the top names on the list released on Tuesday across all Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) platforms are captain William Troost-Ekong, Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi, and Stanley Nwabali.

The squad also features several established internationals, including Maduka Okoye, Zaidu Sanusi, Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi, Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi, Raphael Onyedika, Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon, and Chidera Ejuke.

In addition, Chelle extended invitations to standout home-based players such as Abdulrasheed Shehu, Ebenezer Harcourt, Ekeson Okorie, Chisom Orji, and Adekunle Adeleke, highlighting his intention to evaluate domestic talent ahead of the tournament.

According to the NFF, the final 28-man squad will be announced in the coming days.

The Super Eagles will open their training camp in Egypt on December 10, where they are expected to play warm-up matches before the competition kicks off on December 21.

Nigeria has been drawn in Group C alongside Tanzania, Tunisia, and Uganda as the team aims for a strong showing in Morocco.
