
Lagos Police Nab 2 Suspected Armed Robbers, Recover Firearms in Ajegunle, Ojo
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers and recovered firearms and ammunition during separate intelligence-led operations in Ajegunle and Ojo.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi.

The statement noted that in Ajegunle, operatives of the Command Tactical Team, Thunder Blast, acted on credible intelligence about suspected hoodlums who allegedly operate with commercial motorcycles and use weapons to dispossess unsuspecting members of the public.

The operation led to the arrest of Waheed Orelope, 27. A locally made pistol and two live cartridges were recovered during preliminary investigation.
In a similar operation in Ojo, the Surveillance Team of the Ojo Division was deployed to the Iyana Iba Under Bridge area following reports that hoodlums had taken over the axis, posing a threat to commuters and residents.
One suspect, Wasiu Shonibare, 29, was arrested, and a locally made pistol was recovered.
Police said both suspects are in custody while investigations continue to determine their level of involvement and identify other members of the alleged criminal gang. Further developments will be communicated as investigations progress.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, reiterated the command’s commitment to proactive policing and the protection of lives and property across the state, urging residents to support the police with timely and credible information
