The rate of confirmed new cases of Coronavirus drops across Nigeria as 160 new cases were recorded on Friday with zero casualty.
The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control NCDC gave the new figures on its website late Friday 28th of August 2020, with 160 freshly confirmed cases and no deaths recorded as the rate of confirmed Coronavirius cases continues to drop across the regions of Nigeria, Theconscience reports.
“Till date, 53477 cases have been confirmed, 41017 cases have been discharged and 1011 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the nation’s Federal Capital Territory.
“The 160 new cases are reported from 15 states- Plateau (44), Lagos (27), Katsina (18), Edo (15), FCT (14), Ondo (10), Oyo (9), Kwara (6), Abia (4), Nasarawa (4), Kano (3), Ekiti (2), Kaduna (2), Kebbi (1), Ogun (1)”, the report said.

From the analysis, Plateau State remains a flash point with 44 new cases though a remarkable drop from its 85 and 65 cases daily earlier in the week while Lagos maintains its downward drop of 27 having dropped drastically from its average of over 100 cases daily to 17 and 21 cases lately. Lagos, in effect, continues its new found position as no longer the epicentre of the deadly virus in the nation.
In Oyo, Coronavirus drops also from its earlier standing of 31 to just 9 cases, FCT dropped from 33 to 15, and now 14; kaduna from 26 to 13 and now 2, Enugu from 46 to 2, Ondo rose by 10, Edo from zero to 15 while Delta and Ekiti, Coronavirus drops further to 5 and 2 respectively.
