Unity Bank Targets Youths With Upgraded Unifi App
Unity Bank Plc has rolled out an upgraded version of its Unifi mobile banking application, as the lender moves to strengthen its digital banking offering and improve customer experience.
The latest update, Unifi app version 2.3, features enhanced security protocols, expanded quick-action functions, improved bill payment options and an upgraded Nigeria Quick Response (NQR) feature to enable faster and more secure QR code transactions.
The bank said the upgrade reflects continued investment in digital and security infrastructure to safeguard customer data and support safe, real-time transactions across channels.
Speaking on the development, Adenike Abimbola, Divisional Head, Retail, SME, Digital Banking and Fintech Partnerships at Unity Bank, said the improvements were driven by ongoing reviews of the platform and customer feedback.

“Retail customers increasingly expect speed, convenience and security as standard. This upgrade enhances functionality, strengthens security and simplifies key transaction journeys, allowing customers to bank seamlessly anytime and anywhere,” she said.
Abimbola added that the bank would continue to improve its digital channels in line with changing customer needs and industry trends, noting that mobile banking remains central to Unity Bank’s retail growth strategy.
Launched as part of the bank’s drive to expand its retail footprint, particularly among younger and digitally savvy customers, Unifi has become a core component of Unity Bank’s digital transformation and customer acquisition efforts.
The Unifi app is available on Android and iOS platforms, offering services including funds transfers, bill payments, airtime purchases and QR-enabled transactions.
