AIG Fayoade Reiterates Benefits of Training As Zone 2 Trains Personnel on Emotional Intelligence
The Zone 2 Police Command has intensified its commitment to strengthening professional standards within its ranks as officers participated in a specialised training workshop aimed at improving emotional intelligence and fostering cohesive teamwork across operational units.
This was disclosed in a press release on Monday signed by CSP Ayuba Umma, the command’s public relations officer.
According to the statement, personnel of the Zone 2 Command Headquarters, under the leadership of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Adegoke M. Fayoade, have undergone a capacity-building workshop on Emotional Intelligence and Effective Cohesive Team Building.

The lecture was facilitated by Dr. Karockas Watkins of Vision Excellence Global, USA, supported by his Africa-based team.
The training covered critical themes including self-leadership, personality types, organizational effectiveness and trust building—areas designed to deepen officers’ understanding of human behaviour, strengthen interpersonal relations and improve self-awareness in line with global policing standards.
Described as educative, engaging and highly practical, the seminar featured interactive sessions that enabled officers to share experiences and better appreciate the relevance of emotional intelligence to modern law enforcement duties.
AIG Fayoade commended the facilitators and emphasized the need for continuous refresher programmes across the Police Force. He urged personnel to consistently seek knowledge and prioritize personal development, noting that such efforts are vital to enhancing professional competence and service delivery.
