Tiwa Savage Speaks On Nigerian Men And Romance
THECONSCIENCE NG reports that award-winning Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has shared her thoughts on the romantic shortcomings of Nigerian men, despite their stylish appearances.
Speaking during a candid chat on GRM Daily’s Thoughts in a Culli, the music star described Nigerian men as “swaggalicious but not romantic.” She explained that while they often flaunt wealth and fashion, many fall short in expressing genuine emotional affection.
“Nigerian men do have swag, but they are not really romantic when it comes down to it,” she said. “They know how to swag and splash cash, but I’m not looking for that.”
According to Savage, many men prioritize material display over emotional connection, which, in her view, leaves much to be desired in relationships.
Tiwa Savage rose to fame in 2010 with her hit single Kele Kele Love and has since become one of Africa’s most celebrated music icons, earning international recognition and numerous awards.
The Somebody’s Son crooner was previously married to music executive Tunji ‘TeeBillz’ Balogun. The couple wed in 2013, welcomed a son, Jamal, in 2015, and parted ways in 2018.
