Tinubu Signs ₦54.99 Trillion 2025 Budget Into Law
President Bola Tinubu has officially signed the ₦54.99 trillion 2025 Appropriation Bill into law. This year’s budget represents a 99.96% increase over the ₦27.5 trillion appropriation for 2024.
The signing took place on Friday in his office at the State House in Abuja. Initially proposed at ₦49.7 trillion, the bill was revised and later approved by the National Assembly on February 13 after a series of adjustments.
The breakdown of the 2025 budget includes a total expenditure of ₦54.99 trillion, with statutory transfers amounting to ₦3.65 trillion. The recurrent (non-debt) expenditure stands at ₦13.64 trillion, while capital expenditure is set at ₦23.96 trillion. Debt servicing will cost ₦14.32 trillion, and the deficit-to-GDP ratio is set at 1.52%.
