Alhaji Tijjani Borodo, a lawyer, veteran administrator and former Company Secretary, FBN Holdings Plc, has called for zero tolerance for nepotism, prioritization of competence, ethics and increased constructive youths engagements as vital for Nigeria’s stability.
Borodo made this remark at the formal launch of his book “A Journey in Leadership: An Autobiography” on March 31st.
While speaking at the event which brought together family members, friends, and associates in compliance with Covid-19 protocols, Tijjani Borodo opined that Nigeria was a great nation blessed with immense human and natural resources that require strategic and responsible leadership.
On the state of the nation and the issue of restructuring, he agreed that Nigeria must develop a structure that guarantees equitable distribution of resources across the nation.
He said every state should be given its due and Nigeria’s federation must be repositioned in a way that does not marginalize any region, or deprive it of due rights and benefits.
He also called for more constructive engagements with the youth through strategic policies and programmes that will escalate economic opportunities for them to harness their skills and unlock potentials for the development of the nation.
Despite the increased regional agitations over insurgency and insecurity, Alhaji Borodo was optimistic that Nigeria would navigate past the problems and become a great nation.
Otudeko said the book provided insights on the rules and behaviours expected of leaders and service to the people, adding that the book also emphasizes the importance of learning, experience, and formal education.
