Tems Dedicates Bet Award to Asa, Tiwa, Waje, others
Multiple award-winning Nigerian music star, Tems has saluted her senior colleagues, Asa, Tiwa, Waje and other performing female musical artistes in the country.
THECONSCIENCENG gathered that Tems put up an appreciation post after she made history by becoming the ‘Best International Act’ at the just concluded BET Awards 2022, making her the first African female act to clinch the award.
She dedicated the award to every single young woman, artiste, everybody striving and daring to dream.
The 27-year-old singer also earned the “Best collaboration” award after her collaboration with Wizkid on his global hit “Essence” which also featured Justin Bieber.
While appreciating the efforts of female singers who dared to live their dreams thereby paving the way for them to thrive, the “Damages” singer appreciated Asa, Tiwa Savage, Omawunmi, Waje, Yemi Alade and Niniola.
“I’m taking today to appreciate all the Sisters today. Thank you for existing, thank you for deciding to get up and do something because someone saw that and became inspired by it. @Asa_official @Omawumi @TiwaSavage @yemialadee @OfficialWaje @SympLySimi @OfficialNiniola,” she tweeted.
The ‘Try me’ hit song crooner also acknowledged other fast-rising acts like Ayra Starr, Amaarae, Gyakie, Teni and Fave noting they are all winning and together they’ll show the world how music is done.
“@amaarae @Gyakie_ @ayrastarr @faveszn @TeniEntertainer When I see anyone of you gracing a stage, I feel like that’s me. We’re all winning and we’re about to move in like a Tsunami. So before it starts, know that Love lives on this side. As we show the world how it’s done”, she said.
