How Popular Nigerian Singer, Sound Sultan Died – Family
Veteran singer and rapper, Olanrewaju Ganiyu Fasasi, also known as Sound Sultan, is dead
Sound Sultan died after battling an ailment known as angioimmunoblastic t-cell lymphoma at the age of 44, throwing loved ones and the entertainment industry into mourning.
The deceased who is remembered as a prolific lyricist and also for his song Jagbajantis was also a brother to popular broadcaster and singer, Dare Fasasi aka Baba Dee.
THECONSCIENCEng understands that the Jagbajantus crooner had been battling with an ailment and he spoke about it at a public event 2 years ago before his death.
The Nigerian entertainment world and well wishers have been mourning his departure with many of them post in his pictures on their social media angle and sharing the memories they had together.
The family sent out an official statement which was shared on Instagram by Efe Omoregbe who is 2baba’s manager. In the announcement, Dr Kayode Fasasi, signed on behalf of the late singer’s family.

According to him, Sound Sultan died on the morning of Sunday, July 11. he was said to have had a battle with angioimmunoblastic t-cell lymphoma. He was 44 years old and survived by his loving wife, three children, and siblings.
The family requested their privacy as they come to terms with his passing.
Sound Sultan was very close to singer 2baba, no wonder the African Queen crooner’s manager was the first to officially announce his death on social media.
