Obi Cubana Grilled By NDLEA Over Alleged Drug Business
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has questioned celebrity businessman, Obi Iyiegbu better known as Obi Cubana over allegations linking him to an illegal drug business.
According to Punch, the businessman was grilled at the NDLEA headquarters in Abuja on January 13, 2022 and was afterwards granted bail.
Reports also has it that suspicious payments were made into the account of the chairman of the Cubana Group of companies by three convicted drug dealers from Nigeria, India and Malaysia.
It was gathered that the socialite was allowed to go home in order to get some documents and return at a later date.
When contacted, Femi Babafemi, spokesman of the NDLEA, declined to speak on the matter.
The fresh case comes after the EFCC had similarly grilled Cubana for alleged money laundering and tax fraud.
Obi Cubana, who has been in the nightclub business since 2006, made headlines globally in year 2021 when he organised a lavish funeral for his mother, Ezinne Iyiegbu in Oba, Idemili South LGA of Anambra state.
