Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has said that the dethronement of the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi 11 by the Kano State government on Monday over alleged total insubordination to the Governor was underserved.
The Abdullahi Ganduje led state government had also on Monday banished Sanusi to Nassarawa State and immediately announced Nasir Ado Bayero, former Emir of Bichi as new Emir of the ancient city of Kano.
The elder statesman, in an open letter consoled the deposed Emir and urged him to accept it in good faith as a price he has to pay for choosing the path of defending the good of the country and humanity.
The letter reads, ” It is sad because it was undeserved. It is good because you have paid the price. My prayer is that God should give you the fortitude and courage to continue on the path you have chosen for your self in the best interest of the country and humanity. “
