NRM Lagos Chairperson Calls for More Women in Politics
The Lagos State Chairperson of the National Rescue Movement, NRM, Mrs. Akinade Temilola, has urged women to participate more in politics to ensure better representation and accelerate development in Nigeria.
Temilola, a politician also encouraged
men to support and allow their wives to join politics through the NRM, a political party.
She made this call while speaking during the party’s state congress in Lagos at the weekend.
“I am encouraging more women to join politics so as to make their voices heard in the public in order to make Nigeria great.
She also expressed gratitude to the party faithfuls and the National and State executive members for their cooperation and support.
The party congress was witnessed by representative of its national body, Pastor Peter Obi, as well as officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC from Lagos state including Mrs. Aliu, Mrs. Anioma , Mr Buba.
The Congress highlight included when the Secretary Mr. Soji Amusan read the entire nominated executives names to the house and all members affirmed the nominees to run the affairs of NRM Lagos State chapter for the next four years.
Other party officials who graced the occasion included its deputy chairman, Mr. Adebayo Johnson, Mrs. Rita Owuoma, women leader and Mr. Solomon Edah, the Financial Secretary.
