Marathon Lecture: Osun Lecturer Hits 125-Hour Mark In World Record Attempt
Dr Nsikak Akpan, a lecturer at Foreign Links College of Health Technology, Moro, Osun State, who embarked on a 150-hour marathon lecture in a bid to set a new world record for longest lecture hour, has lectured for over 125-hour.
THECONSCIENCE NG reports that Dr. Akpan began the exercise in the early hours of Monday, September 23, 2024, at the institution’s campus.
Checks by our correspondent at about 1.30pm on Saturday morning on the official page where the exercise was livestreamed showed that Dr. Akpan has lectured for over 125-hour in the ongoing marathon.
According to the lecturer, the marathon lecture focuses on “Relationships between Man’s Environment and Health.”
Speaking earlier, the college don said his application with the reference number 240427100506lml sent to the Guinness World Records for him to embark on the 150-hour longest marathon lecture was approved.
Akpan also said an Indian Professor Arvin Mishra currently holds the record with 139 hours, 52 minutes, and 42 seconds, which was set in 2014.
The world record attempt is expected to end on September 30 inside the Foreign Links College campus, Moro, Osun State.
“I am attempting to set a new Guinness r for the longest lecture marathon 10 years after it was done in India,” He said.
