The 2007 Mass Communication graduates of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic group has donated two hundred thousand naira cash gift to its members to cushion the economic effect of the Covid-19 sit-at-home order.
The move was targeted at complementing efforts of government to provide palliative measures for citizens amidst the restriction order.
The Groups National Coordinator, Communicator Oladapo Soneye disclosed that the idea to contribute for its members during the pandemic was championed by a Diaspora Member Adeyemi Luqman and supported by Mr Akeem Salami of Balkeem Nigeria Ltd.
The coordinator added that the gesture had elicited good reactions from the first 20 beneficiaries who expressed satisfaction and lauded the group for the timely intervention.
Soneye expressed gratitude to the donors for extending the hand of fellowship to their colleagues and canvassed for more contribution to cater for those that are yet to benefit.
He explained that, “The MAPOLY 2007 Mass communication graduates group has a mission to foster unity, empower members, exchange ideas and contribute their quota to societal development.
“The Alumni association is being managed by a national coordinator with zonal coordinators in charge of different zones including diaspora.”
