Finally, INEC reveals date for Nigerians to start collecting PVCs
The Kaduna state’s resident electoral commissioner (REC), of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Asmau Maikudi, has said Nigerians would start collecting their permanent voter cards (PVCs) for the just concluded voters’ registration exercise in October.
Maikudi made the disclosure at a 1-day sensitization and enlightenment engagement with women aspirants and stakeholders in Kaduna on Thursday.
While reacting to an earlier circulating report that INEC has revealed a website telling Nigerians that FG has extended the PVC registration exercise which can be done individually, the electoral body distanced itself from the website and reiterated that the exercise has ended and Nigerians should face the reality.
INEC’s spokesperson, Festus Okoye, also stated that only the commission has exclusive power to register voters and conduct elections in the country.
