Like US, UK To Enforce Mass Deportations – Kemi Badenoch

THECONSCIENCE NG reports that Kemi Badenoch, Leader of the United Kingdom’s Conservative Party, has unveiled a sweeping immigration reform proposal that aims to deport 150,000 illegal migrants annually. Described as the “toughest reform Britain has ever seen,” the plan is part of her new Radical Borders Plan, which seeks to overhaul the UK’s border control system.

In a video message posted on her official X account on Sunday, Badenoch announced the creation of a dedicated Removals Force, modelled after the United States’ Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), to crack down on illegal migration and enforce swift deportations.

“My message is clear: if you’re here illegally, you will be detained and deported,” she stated. “Our new Removals Force will deport 150,000 illegal migrants each year.”

Known for her firm stance on immigration, Badenoch criticised both Conservative and Labour-led governments for what she described as years of failure in managing migration effectively.

“Successive governments have failed on immigration. Labour promised to smash the gangs. Instead, in just a year, they oversaw record small boat crossings, over 50,000 illegal arrivals, 32,000 people in asylum hotels, and billions wasted. It’s pure weakness,” she said.

Under Badenoch’s proposed reforms:

Asylum claims from illegal entrants would be banned.

The Human Rights Act would be repealed.

The UK would withdraw from the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR).

Illegal migrants would be deported within a week of arrival.

Legal barriers to deportation would be eliminated, and

Visa sanctions would target countries that refuse to repatriate their nationals.

She also pledged to end what she called the “asylum hotel racket,” promising to close temporary accommodation centres for migrants and save billions in public funds.

“This plan will restore public trust in our borders and end the exploitation of our immigration system,” Badenoch said.

Badenoch framed the plan as a defining feature of the Conservative Party’s strategy ahead of the next general election, contrasting it with what she termed Labour’s “weak and costly” immigration record.

“Only the Conservatives have a serious, credible plan to deliver stronger borders,” she said. “If you come here illegally, you will be deported.”

The proposal is expected to stir intense political debate, especially around Britain’s international human rights commitments and the legal implications of withdrawing from the ECHR.
