Tinubu’s capacity records worked for him, LASOMP congratulates President-Elect
The Lagos Online Media Publishers (LASOMP), has said Nigeria’s President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s track records as a builder of people and capacity has helped him clinch the 2023 electoral victory.
According to the group, Tinubu’s victory was payback for his relentless capacity development strides and commitment to empowering people.
Recall that after a keenly-contested race, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 declared Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the Saturday, February 25 presidential elections and also presented a certificate of return to Tinubu and Vice President-Elect, Senator Kashim Shettima.
Tinubu had polled 8,794,726 votes to defeat his closest rival, Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, who scored 6,984,520 and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) who came third with 6,101,533 votes.
LASOMP while congratulating Tinubu on his emergence as Nigeria’s next President urged him to hit the ground running with solutions for security, national unity, economy, youth development, entrepreneurship and development.
In a congratulatory message, the body said the President-Elect should live up to his campaign promises of unifying the nation and taking it to greater heights of growth, peace and prosperity.
“We want to congratulate Nigeria’s President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his fantastic victory. He is the new Nigerian President.
“And we also thank President Muhammadu Buhari for bequeathing a good legacy to the nation to strengthen our democracy. We urge President Tinubu to hit the ground running with innovative solutions for national cohesion, development, economic stability and national development.”
LASOMP also pleaded with other contestants to allow tension go down by accepting the election outcome in the interest of the nation.
