Lagos Task Force Operative Okada Riders Clash
Operatives of the Lagos Task Force, who were enforcing the state’s Okada ban clashed with some Motorcycle riders on Tuesday.
There were many sources on social media who warned commuters and residents to be cautious around the area
However, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, claimed that the area is safe.
THECONSCIENCENG gathered that some Okada riders went on the rampage vandalised vehicles in the area.
Reacting to the incident, the Lagos PPRO said, “Idi-Araba is safe. Nothing to worry about. Just some lawless motorcycle operators trying to cause trouble after their motorcycles were impounded.
“Our men are fully on the ground. Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alabi personally coordinating our response.
“They can’t fight because Taskforce went well prepared.
“They were just causing a scene after the task force left with some of their impounded motorcycles. Rapid Response Squad and men from the Area Command have since been drafted there. Absolutely nothing to worry about.”
