Oniba Congratulates New Lagos Speaker, Urges More Collaboration with Executive
The Oniba of Iba land in Lagos State, Oba Sulaiman Raji Ashade, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly (LAHA), Hon. Mojisola Lasbat Miranda, on her ascension as the leader of the assembly.
The monarch commended the lawmaker, who represents Apapa 1, for her role and emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation between the executive and legislative branches of government to promote greater development within the state.
In a statement issued in Lagos on Thursday, Oniba expressed his prayers for the Lagos Speaker and encouraged her to prioritize the state’s development through effective legislation.
He stated, “I warmly congratulate you on your election as the new Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly. Your victory is a testament to your hard work, dedication, and commitment to public service and the Lagos agenda, ‘The THEME AGENDA.'”
“Your leadership skills, vision, and passion for the community are commendable. As the first female Speaker, you serve as a source of inspiration for our young girls. We are confident that you will make a positive impact in your new role and work diligently to address the needs and concerns of our community.”
Oniba further urged the new Lagos Speaker to cultivate stronger collaboration with Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, and the executive council. He emphasized the need to restore dignity to the assembly to enhance the state’s economic prospects.
“Please accept my offer of support and collaboration. We look forward to working with you to promote the welfare and development of our community,” he concluded.
