Hon Kayode Omiyale: How LASIEC Use of Card Readers for Lagos LG Elections Boosts Credibility

The Chairman Yaba Local Council Development Area, Hon Kayode Omiyale who is also the Chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the local government election has started that the novel use of smart card readers by the state electoral umpire LASIEC will significantly boost the credibility and acceptance of the elections results.

THECONSCIENCEng reports that Omiyale commended the lagos state independent electoral commission LASIEC for deploying technology through the use of smart voters cards for the elections, noting that its a bold step forward for the state.

Omiyale also applauded the state government for supporting LASIEC and also the electorates for comporting themselves peacefully.

He made this known while speaking with journalists while casting his votes at his polling unit in the Abule Oja/Akoka, Yaba axis of Lagos.

Kayode Omiyale remarked that LASIEC has taken a step ahead of other states by being the first state to conduct Local Government election with Card Reader which is a plus on the credibility and transparency that will make the election results acceptable.

“I want to commend LASIEC for being the first state in Nigeria to conduct state elections with Smart Card Readers. This shows transparency and serious credibility and will make the result very acceptable to all stakeholders.

As a politician, I welcome all other participants in the spirit of sportsmanship but I know our party will carry the day based on our great works.”

Kayode Omiyale further stated that he is highly optimistic that he will come out victorious in the poll and his party APC will carry the day in the election.
