Imo Traditional Ruler Abducted By Gunmen Found Dead
The traditional ruler of Ihitte Ihube community, Eze Paul Ogbu who was kidnapped three days ago from his palace by unknown gunmen has been found dead.
The monarch who was kidnapped alongside the youth leader of the community on December 13, 2021 after his palace was set ablaze were both found dead on December 16, 2021.
A source who confirmed the development to Dailysun said the monarch was buried on December 16. He further said another traditional ruler, Acho Ndukwe who was abducted same day with the late monarch broke the news to the community.
“Eze Paul Ogbu and the youth leader have been found dead. Eze Acho Ndukwe revealed that the criminals killed Eze Paul in his presence. Security operatives went back to the criminals camp with the indigene and the corpse of the traditional ruler was identified lying in a ditch.” The source said.
Ogbu and Ndukwe were kidnapped on Sunday with their vehicles and palaces razed. However, Ndukwe was rescued on Monday after security operatives raided the kidnappers den in Orsu local government area and Uli in Ihiala council area of Anambra state.
Ogbu’s daughter and ex-beauty queen Ugonna who initially raised an alarm over his abduction also confirmed her father’s death.
