Idumota Trader Jailed For Assaulting Actress Lizzy Anjorin

Mosunmola Arike, one of the traders at Idumota market who assaulted and accused controversial actress, Lizzy Anjorin Lawal, of stealing, has been sent to prison by the magistrate.

While the judgement was going on, the prosecuting officer read a charge to the accused person that ‘ You, Mosunmola Arike female in company of others now in court and others at large on 5th of February, 2024 at about 1339hr at Oba Akintoye market, Lagos Island did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit assault and there by committed an offence punishable under section 411 abd 413 of the criminal law of Lagos state of Nigeria..

Idumota Trader Jailed For Assaulting Actress Lizzy Anjorin

Mosunmola was charged to court on four count charges, she was accused of conducting herself in a manner as to cause the breach of the public peace by assaulting Lizzy Anjorin Lawal by forcefully pushing and dragging her which caused her bodily harm.

The market woman and others at large were also accused of calling Lizzy Anjorin some unprinted name like ‘Ole’ ‘Ashawo’.

Due to her inability to meet her bail condition, Mosunmola was sent to prison while the matter was adjourned.

Six traders were earlier arraigned before the Chief Magistrate Court in Lagos Island Local Government on February 8 for allegedly assaulting and blackmailing Nollywood actress, Lizzy Anjorin-Lawal.

Other defendants include Qudus Jokogbola, Suru Olawale, Edu Shakirat, Fausat Mohammed, Kafayat Ahmed, and Opere Simiat Morenike.

In his ruling, Magistrate A.A. Paul had granted each defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with one surety each.

The case was adjourned till March 11 for mention.
