In his response, he noted that, despite holding several chieftaincy titles, this latest honour from Oba Onigando holds a special place in his heart, coming from his immediate community.
“I have shared Nigerian and African cultural heritage in over 20 countries, receiving accolades in numerous forums, including the United States. However, this recognition from my community is particularly meaningful,” he stated.
“This honour is more than a personal milestone—it is a call to greater responsibility. As Aare Mayegun, I am committed to fostering peace, strengthening our cultural identity, and ensuring Igando Land’s legacy is a source of pride for future generations.

Indeed, culture is life and a catalyst for peace, morals, entertainment, and economic growth. The transformative power of the arts is incredible, and I am proud to champion this cause.”
He concluded by emphasizing the importance of continued efforts in promoting arts, culture, and education, expressing gratitude for the support from sponsors and patrons.
Dignitaries and friends of the newly installed chief praised the honour bestowed upon High Chief Boyede. Comrade Israel Bolaji, popularly called Bashorun, a friend of the new chief said it was an honour truly deserved.
